KillMyStartup
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
KillMyStartup is a voice application. You pitch a startup idea out loud, and an AI searches the web and argues back. This policy explains exactly what happens to what you say. It applies to the Android app and to killmystartup.today.
What we collect
- Voice recordings. While a session is active, your microphone audio is streamed to our voice provider so the AI can hear and respond to you.
- Transcripts. Your speech is converted to text, along with the AI's replies, to carry on the conversation.
- Your search terms. Topics drawn from your pitch are sent to a web-search provider to find competitors and market information.
- A device identifier. The Android app uses the device's app-scoped Android ID (the website uses a random id kept in your browser) as your account. It is sent to our server and to our purchase provider so your free minutes and any minutes you buy or earn stay with your device, including after a reinstall.
- Minutes and purchases. How many conversation seconds you have used, bought or earned, and the purchase records Google Play passes on. We never see your card details; payment is handled entirely by Google Play.
- Advertising identifier. If you choose to watch a rewarded ad in the Android app, Google AdMob may use the advertising ID to serve and measure that ad. Ads are shown only when you tap the ad button.
We do not ask for an account, a name, an email address, or a phone number. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or files.
When we collect it
The microphone is used only while a session is running — after you press the button to start, and until you press it again, your minutes run out, or the session times out. It is never used in the background and never while the app is closed.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that make the app work:
- ElevenLabs — processes your voice audio and transcripts to power the conversation. See elevenlabs.io/privacy.
- Firecrawl — receives search queries derived from your pitch to retrieve public web results. See firecrawl.dev/privacy.
- Vercel — hosts the website and the server functions that start a session and keep your minutes. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Neon — the database that records your sessions and minutes, keyed by the device identifier. See neon.com/privacy-policy.
- RevenueCat — keeps your minutes balance and processes Google Play purchase records. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Google AdMob — serves the optional rewarded ads in the Android app. See policies.google.com/privacy.
How long we keep it
Conversation audio and transcripts are retained by our voice provider, ElevenLabs, for as long as the app account exists, so that sessions can be reviewed for quality and debugging. We have not set an automatic deletion period. You can ask us to delete your recordings at any time — see below.
Session and minutes records are kept for as long as the app is offered, so that a reinstall does not lose the minutes you paid for. Ask us and we will delete them.
Deleting your data
Email contact@killmystartup.today and ask us to delete your conversation data, or follow the step-by-step instructions on our data deletion page. Tell us roughly when you used the app so we can find the right sessions. We will delete them and confirm by reply. You may also clear the app's storage from Android Settings to remove everything held on your device.
Security
All traffic between the app and our providers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Our API credentials are held on the server and are never shipped inside the app.
Children
KillMyStartup is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
